Ben Affleck to Reprise His Role as The Caped Crusader in DCEU Film The Flash

 

Not many people have witnessed stardom in Hollywood and have maintained that stature over the years. Ben Affleck is one example of an actor who has surprised audiences and critics with his choice of films. He is best known for work in Pearl Harbor, Argo, The Town, Gone Girl, The Long Way Back, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After taking up the role of the caped crusader in the DCEU movies, Affleck shocked everyone when he publicly announced that he is not going to play Batman anymore and thus will be backing out from the film he was supposed to write, act and direct.

However, the standalone film was not shelved and now the upcoming movie will be written and directed by Matt Reeves and will star Robert Pattinson as The Caped Crusader. 

Ben Affleck to Join Ezra Miller and Michael Keaton in The Flash

He last appeared in DCEU’s Justice League and his character will also be appearing in Justice League Snyder Cut, which will be released on online streaming platform HBO Max. However, Ben Affleck will be coming back as Batman in the upcoming The Flash movie. Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti confirmed Affleck’s return. According to reports, Ben Affleck will have a supporting role in the film. The Hollywood actor will be joining Ezra Miller and Michael Keaton in the film. Affleck will not reprise his role as Batman in any other DCEU feature film or television series.

According to reports, the upcoming Flash movie will have a storyline of the comic book Flashpoint. If the rumors are true, the Flashpoint Batman will make an entry into the DC Extended Universe. The initial premiere date of the film was July 1, 2022, but it got postponed to June 3, 2022. Andy Mushchietti will direct the Flash.

Barry Allen Meets Flashpoint Batman aka Thomas Wayne

The fictional character first appeared in the story by Geoff Johns. In this story, Flash found out that in an alternate reality, Thomas Wayne was the caped crusader. Flashpoint saw Flash enter an alternate reality without his superpowers and memory of how he reached this version of reality. Barry Allen goes to Gotham City and finds out that Batman is entirely different. He finds out that Thomas Wayne became the Dark Knight after a mugger on the street killed Bruce.

In this alternate reality, the character of Bruce Wayne’s mother, Martha Wayne, becomes the infamous Joker after she goes insane. This particular storyline showcases Barry Allen regaining his superpowers with the help of Flashpoint Batman, aka Thomas Wayne. He then goes back to his original timeline and gives a letter to Bruce Wayne written by his father in an alternate reality.

According to reports, the rumors of the development of the solo Flash film first came to light in 2013. DC later announced that The Flash was going to release in the year 2018. However, movies like Suicide Squad, Justice League in the DC Extended Universe bombed, and this forced Warner Bros. and DC to put upcoming projects on the back burner while they worked on a more efficient strategy.

The Flash is the name of several superheroes appearing in comic books created by DC Comics. Gardner Fox and Harry Lampert created the character. The original Flash first appeared in Flash Comics #1 released in November 1939. All the versions of Flash can run, move, think about a super speed. The superhero also has the capability of superhuman reflexes.
