Samsung Is Going ‘Razr-Retro’ With the Galaxy Z Flip 5G

One of the largest sellers of smartphones in the world, Samsung, is set to bring out the newest, funkiest, and nostalgic smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. As the name aptly suggests, the phone is inspired by the early 2000’s phenom phone, Moto Razr. It is a flip phone which can completely be unhinged as per the tech giant. Powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 865 Plus 5G, the phone is going to be a class apart both in features as well as price. For the astonishing unhinge tech and 5G compatibility, Samsung is going to take you for almost $1500. So yeah, even though the phone looks nothing like what we’ve seen, the price is something most intrigued people will struggle with.

Z FLIP 5G LOOKS ARTFULLY CRAFTED

The biggest obstacle with flip smartphones seemed to be the look. And Samsung has brought out a beautifully made smartphone that leaves you a little awestruck when you see it in action. The flipping is flawless. It doesn’t feel forced or not strong enough; the makers have given intricate care to the functioning of the retro trend. It isn’t merely a flashy selling point, but a showcase of Samsung’s craftsmanship when it comes to the smaller things. Being such a vast conglomerate, Samsung received a lot of criticism in the recent past for accidents caused by their smartphones. Thus, this phone should revive Samsung’s reputation as a top player in the game along with Apple and OnePlus. (With OnePlus, not so much in market share but the quality of the product.)

IT ISN’T PRECISELY THE RAZR

Moto Razr was a rectangular flip phone that became a phenomenon when it came out. Samsung has been trying to bring out a seamless flip smartphone for some time now but hasn’t found great success. Thus, this phone should be the answer to those worries. It isn’t rectangular like the Moto Razr, but more box-like. This gives it a much different feel to it. Once you close the phone, you can also find a small OLED ticker screen which has multiple functions. So, you needn’t flip it open each time. When opened halfway, it looks like a mini laptop and doesn’t seem odd to the eye. Unhinging is virtually seamless, but time will tell how long the efficiency remains in a particular piece. But one fantastic feature we loved was the Flex mode. The screen is divided into two four-inch screens that can work separately. Watch a video on one and text your boss on the other one.

P(RIDING) ON THE 5G TRAIN

The company will join other tech giants by entering the potential 5G market. OnePlus Nord has also been announced with 5G compatibility, so Samsung will have healthy competition before their variant even hits the market. And there’s no competition between Z Flip 5G and Nord because a Flip will cost you three Nord phones. But this addition of 5G is imminent with developers saying we could see the faster network globally soon. They are also pushing the phone as ideal for gamers, which is where they’ll find a direct tiff with niche phone makers, Asus ROG, which is famously used for gaming. But the ROG isn’t Flip.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is coming out on August 7th, and it will be available globally.
